Did you know the average corporate worker is interrupted every three minutes and fifty seconds and that 44% of these interruptions are self-interruptions. That equates to 137 interruptions in an eight-hour workday! As much as you can, structure your day so that you make and take phone calls and meetings at times that work best for you. Make a task schedule and keep to it.
Let others know when is the best time to catch you or schedule in regular catch-ups with them. This structured behaviour will encourage others to be more structured and they will learn your preferred working style. Agree how, when and how often you will be contacted.
