Thank goodness for gratitude!

There’s great power to be had in being grateful for what you have.

Being grateful isn’t a sign of weakness or naivety. Counters of blessings are well aware of the bad that’s out there! We just choose to see the good in people and in the world and to not give the bad a look in.

For those of you who still need convincing!...

Thankful people are more: • Enthusiastic • Optimistic • Alert • Joyful • Forgiving • Outgoing

* Grateful people experience less stress and depression and they sleep better.

* You are more likely to take care of yourself (and therefore others) if you practice daily gratitude.

* Gratitude implies connection. Through the act of expressing gratitude and receiving good things, you can connect to strangers and to the abundance of the universe.

People who are depressed overly connect negatively with their past. People who are anxious overly connect negatively with their future. Practising gratitude helps us to participate in our lives right now as we actively seek goodness right now.

When you are thankful for your own gifts and what you receive, you provide less space and time for negative thoughts and behaviour. As a result, you become more resilient, confident and happy.

Like any new skill, it takes practice and momentum to get good at this. So go on! Go get grateful today!

What person, thing, thought or feeling presented itself to you today for which you are grateful?
