In this time of immediacy, fast everything, disposability and a constant hunger for something else outside of ourselves, it is easy to forget that the true gift is to be had in the journey of relating, serving, experiencing and knowing. It is easy to overlook that the things and people that we choose to surround us and that we cherish the most are the results of our combined efforts and investments developed over time.

The wisdom that we have today is the result of our life’s experiences and lessons to date, developed over time.

Our processes, systems, technology, nature and our ways of being are there as the result of what has gone before. They are all continual works in progress and they are all there for reasons that have roots.

It’s easy to see another person’s success as instant, as lucky and therefore as some random thing outside of ourselves that we could never achieve. But success is rarely spontaneous or as it seems to the outsider.

True success, like true progress, is the development of aptitude, meaning, insights and abundance, built over time and it is available to us all.
